Less than equal is not equal

Less than equal is not equal

It’s finally arrived. My online shop is now open.

During this years National Equality March, I wore a t-shirt that I had printed with a logo that I designed, I think about 2 years ago now. I only ever had 3 made. I had so many comments on the t-shirt and people asking where to buy one, that I set up an online shop through “Spreadshirt”, an online printing and merchandise fulfillment company. I have added some styles, picked some good looking t-shirt, and a decent brand. (I chose mostly American Apparel because of like their fabric, style and fit).

LTEINE (less than equal is not equal) consists of the 6 colours of the rainbow flag, and was created when HRC was advocating for “Transgender” to be removed from the Employment Non Discrimination Bill, to have a better chance of the bill getting passed. Many of us were outraged on the exclusion and after many protests and petitions, HRC backed down and admitted they had made a mistake.

The original design of LTEINE had yellow and blue in the middle of the logo, the reverse colours of the HRC equality symbol, thus posing the statement to HRC that “Less Than Equal is not Equal”. I have rearranged the colours for this release.

I hope you like it !! … you can see all the designs in the “Shop” page link above or by visiting http://beaky1211.com/?page_id=59

National Equality March

Monday, October 12th, 2009

It has been an incredible year with the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington DC.  Singing in front of the President at the Inauguration Concert in January, performing Through A Glass Darkly, a rock opera on the addiction of crystal meth and now this weekend with the National Equality March.

This weekend was no exception to one of those tear jerk moments.  It choked me up and bought tears to my eyes to witness a sea of rainbow flags while having the crowd sing along with us with Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

Our chorus call was late Sunday morning for a sound check and somewhat disappointing that we didn’t get to march with the crowd.  Standing on stage with 120 members of the chorus made up for it as we watch the masses of people arrive in front of the Capitol for the rally.  It was such a sight to see, the crowds and throngs of marchers demanding  Equal Rights and Protections for all.

Welcome to my WordPress Blog.  After not writing for a number years, something (or someone) pushed me in the right direction.

Over the next couple of weeks, I will spending time setting up this blog, changing the photo’s, adding themes, schemes and widgets to make this easier for reading, navigation and sharing.  As soon as this is all set up, I hope to post entries and catch you all up on our World’s Apart.

I look forward to hearing your comments.
